Who can enter
How the competition works:
Step 1
Send through your research submission summary which must investigate technology innovations in the property sector.
Step 2
All submissions received by 30 September 2023 will be reviewed by Growthpoint and the GBCSA to assess relevance, applicability to the property space and significance to the sustainability pressure points currently faced within our sector.
Step 3
Top 10 finalists will be announced on 01 November 2023. All finalists will be invited to present their research to a panel of judges on 29 November 2023. From this presentation, judges will select 3 winners within the category.
Step 4
Winners for each category will be announced at the prestigious gala dinner and prize giving.

To tackle the challenges and opportunities faced in the industry, we have added a new category to the competition to encourage innovation in the property technology sector, and ensure improved occupancy, higher value, better communication, and transparency.

Green Building Council of South Africa will award all winners with tickets to the 2024 GBCSA Convention. Growthpoint properties will sponsor all winners with travel and accommodation allowance to the 2024 GBCSA convention.
As this is the first year for Proptech as a category in the Greenovate Awards, the list of eligible topics is broad. We have compiled a range of topics, and many of these will tie in well with your chosen project.
** The judging takes place in Johannesburg, and all participants from universities/locations based in other cities will be flown to Johannesburg for the judging and gala dinner. Travel and accommodation costs are covered by Growthpoint Properties.
